A Walk By the River

Sheila Shaw is a Cree Metis artist from Gift Lake Metis Settlement and has lived in Lethbridge for several years. She is fascinated by southern Alberta skies and the local elements of nature. Her colour palette for this piece, A Walk by the River, was inspired by flowers, leaves, and the changing colours of the coulee grasses. White accent lines branch throughout the composition, considering the ways in which nature overlaps and creates its own sense of rhythm.
