This object standing, in direct anthropocentric reflection, is the materialization of a 50 year history of the Allied Arts Council role in Lethbridge. The sphere’s assertive presence reiterates the determination of the numerous creative organizations that banded together to promote the value of the arts in society. This banding formed a “sphere of influence” that motivated creative human beings to advance qualitative transformations to life in our community. Raw steel forms a sphere (symbolizing community) while bands of stainless steel, engraved with the names of the original member organizations of the AAC as well as a statement by Margaret Mead on the impact of individuals working together to improve the world, wrap around the work.
