New public artwork installed in downtown Lethbridge
Together, a new art work by Coryn Kempster and Julia Jamrozik, has been installed as a gateway to downtown on the corner of 5 Street and 6 Avenue South.

In the words of the artists:
Together offers a visual representation and a ‘social infrastructure’ for community-making. Composed of twenty-six abstractly simple seats, the artwork references the universal and anthropomorphic qualities of the chair, while at the same time blurring the boundaries between the individual seats through aggregation and a bold use of colour to evoke the complexity of Canada’s multi-cultural identity. Together symbolizes community but it also fosters community by providing seating elements that may be occupied by passers-by, sparking small conversations and social interactions at this important intersection and entry point to the Lethbridge downtown.”
