Roll Shutter Pilot Art Installed

On Friday, September 19th, “A Sense of Déjà Vu” by Sheila Shaw was installed on the roll shutters of Fee Simple Law (319 4 St S).

This is a pilot project in the downtown to potentially inform a future roll shutter initiative. Fee Simple Law contributed support and funding to this project. Public art projects have been shown to reduce tagging and graffiti, increase a feeling of safety, and beautify the environs.

The colourful, abstracted shapes created by local artist Shaw on the roll shutters were informed by historic maps of downtown Lethbridge. What do you see?

This art will only be visible when the office is closed, so plan your visit accordingly!
