Roll Shutter Art Celebration & Announcement

Celebrate the transformation of downtown Lethbridge through public art at the Roll Shutter Vinyl Pilot Project Celebration on Tuesday, August 11 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Join the Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge and Lethbridge Public Art as we recognize A Sense of Déjà Vu, a roll shutter installation by Lethbridge artist Sheila Shaw. Inspired by historic maps of downtown Lethbridge, Shaw’s colourful design reimagines an everyday storefront as a captivating public artwork after business hours.
The celebration will be held on the Fee Simple Law patio, formerly the Mocha Cabana patio. Guests will hear Sheila share the inspiration and creative process behind the installation, followed by remarks from Matt McHugh of Fee Simple Law on the value of public art in strengthening and revitalizing the downtown core.
Refreshments will be provided, and guests can enjoy a selection of beverages from Spectrum Ale at our pop-up bar. Attendees will also learn how local businesses can apply to participate in future Roll Shutter Project installations, and help bring more public art to downtown Lethbridge.
