Mentorship Opportunity: Call for Expressions of Interest

The City of Lethbridge Public Art Program is seeking a Lethbridge and area artist for an exciting mentorship opportunity. Artists who are emerging, early-career or interested in growing their skill set to include mural arts are invited to submit an Expression of Interest for this opportunity.

Background
The City of Lethbridge has recently contracted professional mural artist Jill Stanton from Edmonton, Alberta, to paint a multi-part mural sequence at City Centre Terminal (Lethbridge Regional Park ‘n’ Ride Transit Terminal) located in downtown Lethbridge. As part of this project, Jill will mentor a local emerging artist in the development and installation of their own painted mural on a wall located inside the building. The work of both muralists will serve to uplift the atmosphere of the terminal and surrounding area, providing an attractive and engaging experience for those moving through downtown by bus, car, or on foot. This is a paid opportunity intended to help an aspiring muralist develop the relevant skills required to work independently on future projects.

1. Planning Phase (Design): June to September 2025
2. Implementation Phase (Installation): September to December 2025
3 .Post-installation Phase: January 2026

Applicants must be
-An artist based in Lethbridge or surrounding regions
-Available for the term of the mentorship outlined above
