Rolling Views: Art Bus Lethbridge

Join the Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge and Lethbridge Transit on Sunday, May 3 for two unique bus tours of public art – on buses that have been transformed into works of art themselves! Rolling Views: Art Bus Lethbridge is a pilot project collaboration between Lethbridge Public Art and Lethbridge Transit, which brings two city buses to life with new designs by two local artists. Kellen Spencer and Gillian Goerz have each designed a beautiful exterior vinyl wrap that transforms a city bus into a travelling work of public art.

SUNDAY, MAY 3
City Transit Terminal (downtown)
Noon-4pm (2 buses! 2 artists! 2 talks!)
FREE

TOUR 1: The event begins at City Centre Terminal in downtown Lethbridge at 12 noon in front of bus #177, designed by Kellen Spencer. The artist will give a brief artist talk about his bus design and art practice, after which participants will ride the bus on a guided tour of public art installations in the downtown and on the city’s north side. Tour one will take approximately 1 hr and 45 minutes, ending back at the downtown terminal.

TOUR 2: The second tour will begin at 2 PM with an artist talk by Gillian Goerz, who designed bus #178. Tour 2 participants will ride this bus to the riverbottom and west side to see more works of public art located in farther-flung corners of the city. Tour 2 will take approximately 2 hrs and also ends at City Centre Terminal.

Registration is recommended as seating is limited. Please RSVP to save your spot at https://forms.gle/t4ta2jcEBNJEnRi2.

Approximately 20 ListenTALK devices will be available for participant use courtesy of the Helen Schuler Nature Centre – some attendees may wish to bring their own wired headphones to use with the device.

This public art event is in conjunction with Jane’s Walk and Big Ideas – Public Art Lethbridge.
