Help shape the future of public art in Lethbridge! The consulting team at EVOKE Culture 2.0 is looking for local artists, cultural practitioners, and creative professionals to design and lead interactive community engagement activities for the City of Lethbridge’s Public Art Master Plan Update.
What’s Involved?
– Design and deliver a creative engagement activity
– Gather insights from the community on public art & place
– Collaborate with EVOKE Culture 2.0 to inform the Master Plan
Details:
– Paid opportunity: $100/hr (up to $1,500) + up to $500 for materials
– Engagement period: April–September 2025
– Application Deadline: March 10, 2025
Examples:
– Art Walks – Lead a guided tour through public spaces, sparking discussions about current and future public art possibilities.
– Street Storytelling – Pop-up performances, spoken word, or interactive theater pieces inviting the public to share their cultural stories and connections to place.
– Art Mapping – A giant map where participants mark locations where they’d like to see public art, along with ideas for what should be there.
– Wish Tree – A tree or sculptural installation where people tie written wishes or ideas for public art on fabric strips, tags, or ribbons.
– Story Booth – A recording station where people share personal stories or memories about Lethbridge’s cultural identity, which could later inform artistic projects.
