Casa Gate and Grill
The City of Lethbridge is inviting artists to participate in a design competition for an integrated public art work for the new community art centre currently being constructed in downtown Lethbridge. The selected artist will receive a commission to provide the design for a two panel gate (each design area approximately 34” x 65”) as well as a grill (design area approximately 24” x 50”) for an open section of a wall that is being constructed around an outdoor courtyard on the north side of the facility. The selected design will be used to produce plasma or water cut flat panel to be incorporated into the gate and grill. The artist will n o t be responsible for fabrication or installation. The fabrication material and finish will be at the discretion of the owner. The design project is intended to enhance the aesthetic of the wall while providing pedestrian traffic the opportunity to observe activity in the outdoor studio.
The artist selected to design the panels will receive a $1,500.00 artist fee.
The competition is open to artists living in Lethbridge and Southern Alberta.
